League of Washington Theatres
Welcomes Seven
New Members
(Washington, DC) At its July meeting, the League of Washington
Theatres approved the applications of seven new members.
The new members are:
- Adventure Theatre - the
longest-running theatre program for
children and families in the Washington metropolitan are and one of the
main attractions at Glen Echo Park.
- Bay Theatre Company – professional
regional theatre company and studio in Annapolis, Maryland.
- Forum Theatre - A company focused
on the collaboration of artists from theatre, dance, visual arts, and
music.
- Journeymen Theater Ensemble –
dedicated to creating art that addresses social and moral issues that
challenge and inspire is artists and audiences.
- National Conservatory of Dramatic Arts
- an accredited post-secondary school for professional performing arts
training.
- Solas Nua – dedicated to presenting
work by contemporary artists in Ireland to promote awareness of modern
Irish culture in Washington, DC.
- Washington Savoyards – the Washington
area’s only professional performing arts organization devoted to the
performance of comic and light opera, operetta, and musical theatre.

providing a collaborative forum for professional theatre throughout
Greater Washington. The wide variety of
theatres now in the League reflects how much our community has grown
and how much great theatre is happening throughout Greater Washington,.”

The League of Washington
Theatres is an association of nonprofit theatres in the greater Washington
metropolitan area. The League was
established in 1982 to promote the growth of its membership and to
create public awareness, appreciation and support for theatre in
Washington. There are currently 43 theatre
members and 6 affiliate members of the League. For
