Pin Points
Theatre
Joins League
of Washington Theatres
(Washington, DC)
Pin Points Theatre has become the newest member of the League of
Washington Theatres. Founded in 1980, Pin Points Theatre is most
proud of
its initiatives to create plays in impoverished
D.C. communities
and transform them into professional productions that
tour international stages in Asia (Guam, Japan, Korea, and
Singapore), Canada and Germany, as well as throughout the United
States.
“We're
thrilled to add Pinpoints Theatre to the League membership,” said David
Snider,
President of the League and Producing Artistic Director of Young
Playwrights
Theater. “They're a very welcome addition.”
“We help solve the performing artist's greatest problem,
financial survival in the arts, by showing them alternative means of
being paid
for their talents, “said Pin Points Executive Director Ersky
Freeman. “Receiving $6,000
checks for one-person shows at a government
agency works a
lot better than waiting tables, giving the artist precious
time to
hone their skills while pursuing dreams of a
lucrative career. We are honored to be accepted by LOWT and
aligned
with its work of giving performing artists an economic means of
reaching
numerous agents, instructors, employers, and mentors--in the
shortest
amount of precious time.”
The League of Washington
Theatres is

to promote the growth of its membership and to create public awareness,
appreciation and support for theatre in Washington.
There are currently 39 theatre members and 6
affiliate members of the League. For
